Five products on this site do not let you pick a colour: the scarf packs, the headband packs, and the printed kaftan. Their pages say “assorted — we pick from stock”. This post explains what that actually means, because a vague phrase on a product page is only useful if somebody defines it somewhere.

What we do

These items arrive to us in mixed packs from the supplier — eight headbands, six scarves — and the mix varies between cartons. When your order comes in, we take the next pack off the shelf and send it. We do not open packs and rebuild them to a customer’s preference, because doing that for one person means the next four people get whatever is left.

What you can rely on

• The count is exact. A pack of eight is eight. A pack of six is six. That number is never a range.
• The style family is fixed. Our boho print headband pack ships floral, polka, stripe and bohemian patterns — not solids. The knitted pack ships solid colours — not prints.
• The size is exact. 9 x 3.5 inches for the wide bands; 27.5 inches square for the large satin scarf.

What you cannot rely on

Which specific eight prints arrive. The photographs on those pages show examples from the range, not the exact pack that will reach you. We say this on every affected product page, in the description, above the fold — not in a footnote at checkout.

If a specific print matters

Write to us before you order. We will physically look at what is on the shelf that day and tell you what is there. If we have it, we will hold it for your order. If we do not, we will say so rather than send something close and hope you do not mind.

Why we bother saying all this

Because the alternative is a customer opening a parcel and feeling misled by a photograph — and then we are arguing about whether an image was a promise. It is cheaper for everyone if the page is honest first. That principle runs through the whole shop: every listing states the piece count, the fabric, the wash and the sizes genuinely in stock.
