About Megha Novelties

Megha Novelties is a small online shop in Thane, Maharashtra selling women's ethnic wear and fashion accessories. One person picks the stock, packs the parcels and answers the email.

Why the shop exists

The shop started with a simple, irritating problem: buying a kurta set online meant guessing. Guessing whether the dupatta was actually included, guessing whether “chikankari” meant hand work or machine work, guessing whether XL meant a 44 inch bust or a 46 inch one. Half the parcels that came back to sellers came back because of a guess that went wrong.

So the rule here is that the product page has to answer the question before you pay. Every listing says how many pieces are in the box, what the fabric is, how it should be washed, and which sizes are genuinely in stock rather than which sizes the design theoretically exists in. When only three sizes are left, the page shows three sizes.

What we stock

• Kurta and suit sets — cotton, rayon, chanderi and vichitra silk, from everyday straight cuts to a heavier jacquard set for weddings.
• Kurtis and tunics — singles, for people who already own the leggings and the dupattas.
• Dresses and kaftans — the free-size kaftan with pockets that makes a Mumbai May survivable.
• Scarves and hair accessories — satin squares, printed bands, knitted bands.
• Fashion jewellery and sunglasses — plated and crystal pieces, described as plated and crystal.

How we price

Against what the same fabric and the same amount of work costs in a Thane market shop — not against a designer label with a discount printed next to it. There is no struck-through price anywhere on this site, because a price you were never asked to pay is not a saving.

What we are not

We are not a manufacturer, not a brand licensee, and not an authorised reseller for anybody. We buy stock, we describe it accurately, we post it. We have no showroom, no customer ratings to show you yet, and no five-year history to claim — the shop is new, and inventing a backstory would be a poor way to start.

Tax, stated plainly

The business is not registered for GST. Based on its current circumstances, GST registration is not applicable at this time, so GST is not charged separately on orders and no GST tax invoice bearing a GSTIN is issued.

Our mission and vision

Mission: to make buying ethnic wear online boringly predictable — the right pieces, in the right size, described exactly as they are, delivered across India within 4–9 business days.

Vision: to be the shop a customer in Thane sends her cousin to, because nothing on the page turned out to be untrue when the parcel was opened.
